  • Complete appropriate amount of approved CLASSROOM education

How to Become a Home Inspector in Nevada

  1. Graduate High School.

    You must have a high school diploma or GED.

  2. Be the right age.

    You must be 18 years of age or older.

  3. Get trained.

    Complete the appropriate amount of approved CLASSROOM education. 40 hours for a residential inspector, 50 hours for a general inspector and 60 hours for a master inspector.

  4. Take the Structures Examination.

    Pass the Pass the Inspector of Structures Examination.

  5. Observation Requirements.

    Observe 25 inspections performed by a licensed inspector or attend a 25 inspection course.

  6. File for Your License.

    File with the Clark County and/or Nevada Secretary of State.

  7. Get Liability Insurance.
