How to Become a Home Inspector in Virginia

  1. Graduate High School.

    You must Earn a High School Diploma (or equivalent).

  2. Complete Home Inspector Training.

    You must take 35 hours of education/training.

  3. Complete Classroom or Field Training.

    You must take 35 hours of classroom/field.

  4. Take the NHIE.

    Pass the NHIE Examination - We prepare you for this, our exclusive Exam Prep course is included!

  5. Get Liability Insurance.

    Obtain $250,000 of E&O and Liability insurance. (We will direct you to the right people).

Virginia Home Inspector License Requirements

Home inspectors in the state of Virginia are not required to be certified. However, there are requirements for a voluntary certification - in order to call yourself "certified" by law you need to meet the following requirements:
