How to become a public adjuster

Your career as a public adjuster starts here. How to become a public adjuster

How does four years of undergrad and several more years of law school and firm experience sound?

Terrible, right? We think so, too. ‘Public adjuster’ might sound like a legal term, but law school is not on the horizon if you’re thinking of a career in public adjusting; a PA is not an attorney. Like becoming a home inspector, PAs need a license or certificate to make serious money in the industry, but it’s not law-school-worthy stress. Check out our loose template below to see what you can do.

1. Get your diploma (or bachelor's degree).

It’s not just a piece of paper: It’s years of hard work giving you the skills and knowledge to pursue a lifelong career. Nearly every state requires a high school education to become a public adjuster, and a bachelor’s degree (though not required) gives you an extra layer of preparation.

2. Become a licensed public adjuster

Take part in a class to become a public adjuster. With ATI, your classes include state-specific materials, exam prep, test simulators — even five days field training to help find your sea legs.

  • The three-part program gets you the materials specific to your state: we do the work for you so you can focus on passing that exam.
  • You get real hands on experience with actual claims and professional PA’s as your instructors.
  • Those, coupled with the software training and contract negation experience you’ll get, will make you the professional you need to be in this field.

3. Sign up for public adjuster continuing education classes

To keep earning, keep learning. There are a number of ways to do it, but no public adjuster continuing education class can match ATI’s.

PASS THE EXAM...AND KEEP LEARNING.
